Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the Central government ignored the voices of workers and farmers while making important decisions about their future. He criticized the Modi government for policies that, according to him, harm workers and farmers.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that all trade unions, farmers, and workers in India are protestingagainst the government. He mentioned issues like the new trade deal, labour laws, and the alleged “snatching away” of MGNREGA, the rural employment scheme that provides jobs to farmers and rural workers.
He said these protests are peaceful and show that people want their rights and livelihoods protected. Kharge also called on the government to listen to the concerns of farmers and workers and make policies that benefit them, rather than ignoring their voices.
The protests are part of a nationwide movement demanding better protection for jobs, wages, and rural employment.
