Jana Sena Party leader Konathala Ramakrishna has proposed that the Assembly pass a resolution requesting the Bharat Ratna for N. T. Rama Rao (NTR).
Speaking in the Assembly, the legislator from Anakapalli said NTR’s vision and leadership were unforgettable. He recalled how NTR founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the early 1980s and brought it to power within just nine months. He said this achievement showed NTR’s strong connection with the people.
Mr. Konathala praised NTR for working for Telugu pride and introducing welfare schemes for the poor. He said NTR played a key role in shaping the politics of Andhra Pradesh.
The JSP leader urged all parties to support the resolution and honour NTR with the country’s highest civilian award. He said giving the Bharat Ratna to NTR would recognise his great service to the State and the nation.
