Narendra Modi witnessed an aerial show by the Indian Air Force (IAF) at the newly inaugurated Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in Moran, Assam. The 4.2-kilometre-long ELF is the first of its kind in the northeast region, designed to handle emergency landings for military and civilian aircraft.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister officially inaugurated the facility, highlighting its strategic importance for national security and disaster response. Officials said the facility will improve air operations in the region, enhance surveillance, and support rapid deployment in emergencies.
During the visit, PM Modi also interacted with IAF personnel and observed advanced aviation equipment and safety measures at the facility. Authorities noted that the ELF will strengthen India’s defense preparedness in the northeast while supporting regional development and connectivity.
The Prime Minister’s visit reflects the government’s focus on modernizing infrastructure and improving strategic capabilities in key regions.
