Several Backward Class (BC) organisations in Telangana have renewed their demand for 42% reservation in the upcoming Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections.
Leaders of BC groups held meetings in Hyderabad and urged the State government to implement the reservation before the polls. They said the current reservation percentages do not fully reflect the population of BC communities in rural and local governance bodies.
The organisations warned that failure to consider their demand could lead to protests and public demonstrations. They called on political parties and officials to take immediate steps to address the issue.
The BC leaders emphasised that ensuring adequate representation in MPTC and ZPTC seats is important for the development and welfare of their communities across Telangana.
