The Telangana government will start a free Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination program for girls aged 14 and 15 at the end of February 2026. The program aims to protect young girls from cervical cancer in the future.

Health officials said the vaccination will be provided at government hospitals, primary health centres, and selected schools across the State. The program is part of the government’s effort to improve women’s health and prevent serious diseases.

Authorities urged parents to ensure that their daughters receive both doses of the vaccine for full protection. Medical staff will explain the benefits and answer questions from parents and students.

The Health Department said this initiative is safe, free, and important for long-term health. Officials hope that high participation in the program will significantly reduce cervical cancer risks among girls in Telangana.
