Kiren Rijiju, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, has criticised Rahul Gandhi, saying he is not interested in serious participation in Parliament. Speaking in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju alleged that Rahul Gandhi is being “tutored by NGOs” on how to revive the Indian National Congress.
Rijiju said the government will not take any extra steps to “placate” the Congress to reduce tensions in Parliament. He stated that it is the duty of the Opposition to cooperate and allow the House to function smoothly.
He accused Congress of creating disruptions instead of engaging in meaningful discussions. According to him, Parliament is a key democratic institution, and leaders should focus on public issues and constructive debate.
The comments have intensified political exchanges between the ruling party and the Opposition over the functioning of Parliament and leadership responsibilities.
