In a shocking incident on Tuesday, Harbrinder Singh, the sitting Sarpanch of Thathian Mahantan village and reportedly linked to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was shot dead during a wedding function in Tarn Taran. The attack, carried out in broad daylight, has left the local community and political circles reeling.
According to preliminary reports, Harbrinder Singh had arrived at a private marriage palace to attend the ceremony. While seated with close acquaintances, two to three armed attackers suddenly entered and fired indiscriminately, reportedly targeting him. He died instantly at the scene.
His cousin, Germanjeet Singh, sustained serious bullet injuries. Witnesses immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors described his condition as critical. Residents and wedding guests reportedly panicked during the attack, and the palace temporarily shut down for investigation.
