Kotthagudem U-17 Team Wins Inter-State Cricket Trophy

BKCA-17 Kotthagudem Under-17 cricket team celebrates victory after winning Inter-State Cricket Tournament 2025 in Tirupati

The Under-17 cricket team from Bhadradri Kothagudem has made the district proud by lifting the Inter-State Cricket Tournament 2025 trophy. The final match took place at the KVST Grounds in Tirumalagunta, Tirupati, where the Kothagudem-based BKCA-17 team outplayed West Godavari’s Balaji Cricket Coaching (BCC) side.

BCC batted first and scored 87 runs in 20 overs. Vighnesh top-scored with 34 runs off 39 balls, and Datta Shivaram added 23 runs. However, despite their efforts, BCC was bowled out for 87, setting a target of 88 runs for BKCA.

BKCA began their chase cautiously. Gautam Reddy and Abul Barkat provided a steady start. As the innings progressed, Sai Saketh played a crucial role in anchoring the innings. Ganesh then joined him, forming a strong partnership. BKCA successfully reached the target in just 14 overs, finishing at 88/3 and securing a memorable victory.

Abul Barkat excelled with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 15 runs in his 4 overs. His performance earned him both “Player of the Match” and “Best Bowler” awards. Vighnesh from BCC received the “Best Batter” award. The organizers from the 50 Balls Cricket Academy and district officials praised both teams for their efforts. BKCA’s coach, Pantangi Sai Niranjan, attributed the victory to his players’ discipline and teamwork.
