CID DIG Sunil Kumar Naik Arrested in Alleged Custodial Torture Case of Former MP

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Sunil Kumar Naik, a senior officer, in connection with the alleged custodial torture of former Member of Parliament Raghu Rama Krishna Raju. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju is now the Deputy Speaker of the AP Legislative Assembly.

Sunil Kumar Naik, who was the Bihar cadre Inspector General of Police (IGP), was listed as Accused No. 7 in the case. Authorities said he was taken into custody after investigations suggested his involvement in the alleged mistreatment of Raju while he was in police custody.

The case has drawn widespread attention, with many political leaders and legal experts watching closely. The arrest highlights the ongoing probe into custodial abuses. Officials said the investigation is continuing, and more updates will follow as the case develops.
