Fazilka (Punjab) : Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur visited flood-hit villages near Chand Bhan Drain and Noor Shah on Sunday. She assured people that the government will provide full support and that funds will not run short.

Dr. Kaur, along with MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna and former MLA Arun Narang, distributed relief supplies worth ₹70 lakh. Families received 4,558 ration kits, 2,017 cattle feed bags, sanitary pads, and mosquito nets. She said the state is committed to protecting every affected family under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

She announced that Old Age Homes are open for elderly people in need. Relief camps are also running with food, shelter, and medical care. The government is giving top priority to shifting differently-abled persons to safe places. Dr. Kaur added that once water levels recede, officials will conduct girdawari (crop loss survey) so that farmers get proper compensation.

Earlier, Dr. Kaur reviewed operations with Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu and other officers. She praised volunteers for their work. Later, she joined villagers at a community meal in Noor Shah, boosting the morale of flood-affected residents.
