25 Percent Commission in PM Awas Yojana Scandal Rocks Bihar Assembly

Bihar assembly debate over 25 percent commission in PM Awas Yojana allegations

In Bihar, the issue of 25 percent commission in PM Awas Yojana created a storm in the state assembly. BJP MLAs alleged that officials and middlemen demanded up to 25 percent of the housing amount from beneficiaries before releasing funds. They said poor families faced pressure to pay bribes to receive money under the rural housing scheme. The matter of 25 percent commission in PM Awas Yojana triggered heated exchanges during Question Hour.

Lawmakers also claimed that many deserving families were excluded from the beneficiary list. They urged the government to act quickly and ensure transparency in the scheme’s implementation.

Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar responded to the allegations in the House. He said the government would take strict action if anyone submits a written complaint with proof. He assured members that officials found guilty will face punishment after proper investigation.

The opposition, however, demanded a detailed probe to protect poor beneficiaries.
