The Kishanganj land papers check has begun after the Bihar government ordered action against alleged outsiders in the district. The move follows complaints about illegal land ownership in border areas.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha addressed the issue in the Assembly. He said officials will review land documents in the Dighalbank area. The Kishanganj land papers check will focus on people accused of using fake or unclear papers to claim land meant for locals.
A local MLA raised serious concerns. He claimed many non-locals secured settlement land over the last few years. He demanded physical inspections and strict action against illegal occupants.
At first, the Deputy CM denied large-scale irregularities. Later, he agreed to form a special committee. The panel will verify land records and submit a report. Authorities plan to take firm action wherever they find violations.
