Tej Pratap JJD contest MLC elections as his party prepares to enter the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council polls. Tej Pratap Yadav announced that the Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) will field candidates for the seats that will fall vacant in November.
The Tej Pratap JJD contest MLC elections plan comes at a time when eight Council seats are set to become vacant. Four seats belong to graduate constituencies and four to teacher constituencies.
The current members will complete their terms on November 16. Election preparations may begin soon, with polling likely in September or October.
The graduate constituencies include Patna, Tirhut, Darbhanga and Kosi. The teacher constituencies cover Patna, Tirhut and Darbhanga regions.
Tej Pratap’s announcement signals his party’s fresh political push in Bihar ahead of the elections.
