The Iran Israel missile escalation has raised concerns about the safety of major US military facilities across the region. After Washington and Israel struck Iran, attention quickly shifted to American bases that could face retaliation.

In Bahrain, the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet operates from its regional headquarters. The fleet patrols the Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and parts of the Indian Ocean.

Qatar hosts the massive Al Udeid Air Base outside Doha. It serves as the forward headquarters of US Central Command and houses about 10,000 troops.

Kuwait supports US operations through several sites. Camp Arifjan functions as the forward headquarters of US Army Central. Meanwhile, Ali Al Salem Air Base, known as “The Rock,” lies near the Iraqi border. Camp Buehring stages troop deployments into Iraq and Syria.

In the UAE, Al Dhafra Air Base supports air missions and reconnaissance. Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port regularly hosts US Navy vessels.

Iraq remains critical. Ain Al Asad Air Base and Erbil Air Base support US and coalition forces.

Saudi Arabia hosts troops at Prince Sultan Air Base, while Jordan’s Muwaffaq al Salti Air Base backs regional air missions.
