Chirag Paswan has questioned the Bihar liquor ban and called for a full review of the policy. He said the Bihar liquor ban needs close monitoring to check leakages and illegal supply in the state. The Union minister believes a review will show whether the law is achieving its purpose.
Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas), spoke to reporters in Bihar. He raised concerns about liquor smuggling and black-market sales. He said strict enforcement alone is not enough. Authorities must identify loopholes and fix them quickly.
Some leaders within the ruling National Democratic Alliance have also expressed concerns. However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made it clear that his government will continue the prohibition policy. The state government maintains that the ban supports social welfare and protects families.
