Supporters of the Janata Dal (United) gathered outside the Chief Minister’s residence in Patna amid speculation about Nitish Kumar Rajya Sabha nomination. The crowd raised slogans in support of the Bihar chief minister and expressed concern about reports that he may move to the Upper House of Parliament.
Many party workers said they want Nitish Kumar to continue as chief minister and oppose the idea of Nitish Kumar Rajya Sabha nomination. Some supporters even tried to stop vehicles of JD(U) legislators entering the residence while raising slogans in his favour.
Several workers claimed the public voted in the recent election with Nitish Kumar as the face of the government. They said his leadership remains important for Bihar’s stability and development.
The political buzz comes at a time when discussions about leadership changes in Bihar are growing. Meanwhile, there is also speculation that his son Nishant Kumar could soon enter active politics by joining JD(U).
JD(U) leaders said the final decision about the Rajya Sabha nomination will depend on Nitish Kumar himself.
