Speculation has increased about the Next Bihar CM as reports suggest that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may step down and move to the Rajya Sabha. Political discussions in Patna have intensified, with several leaders emerging as possible contenders for the top post.
If Nitish Kumar leaves the position, the race for the Next Bihar CM may mainly involve leaders from the BJP and JD(U). Sources say the BJP could claim the chief minister’s post in the new political arrangement.
Among the top contenders are Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha. Other names discussed include BJP leader Dilip Jaiswal and MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia. Union Minister Nityanand Rai is also being seen as a possible “dark horse” in the race.
Meanwhile, JD(U) leaders say party workers want Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar to join active politics soon. Some discussions also suggest he could get a key role if leadership changes in the state.
If Nitish Kumar moves to the Rajya Sabha, it could mark a major shift in Bihar politics and the beginning of a new leadership phase.
