Umesh Kushwaha Bihar JDU president third time after JD(U) organisational election

Patna: Umesh Kushwaha Bihar JDU president third time. The Janata Dal (United) elected him unopposed as the party’s Bihar state president during its organisational polls.

Kushwaha is an MLA from Mahnar in Vaishali district. He filed his nomination for the post. No other leader filed papers. As a result, the party chose him as state president again.

He has led the JD(U) organisation in Bihar for nearly five years. Party leaders say he works closely with grassroots workers. He also maintains strong communication with district leaders.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar trusts Kushwaha’s loyalty and organisational skills. Kushwaha belongs to the Koeri community. This group plays a key role in the “Luv-Kush” social base that supports JD(U) in Bihar.

Many leaders changed sides in recent years. However, Kushwaha stayed with Nitish Kumar. He continued to strengthen the party network across the state.
