The Bihar New Chief Minister will be chosen by Nitish Kumar himself, according to JD(U) leader and Union Minister Lalan Singh. He made this statement before the JD(U) legislature party meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence in Patna.
The meeting includes JD(U) MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and senior leaders. Discussions started after Nitish Kumar filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha. Once he becomes a Rajya Sabha member, he is expected to step down from the Chief Minister’s post.
Speaking to the media, Lalan Singh said that all important decisions in the party happen with Nitish Kumar’s approval. He added that the Bihar New Chief Minister will also be selected according to Nitish Kumar’s choice.
The leader also rejected opposition claims that the BJP forced Nitish Kumar to move to the Rajya Sabha. He said the decision came from Nitish Kumar himself.
Meanwhile, some JD(U) workers protested outside the party office and urged him to reconsider his decision.
