A Nawada Sadar Hospital fire caused panic on Friday night after flames broke out in the medicine store room of the hospital in Bihar. The Nawada Sadar Hospital fire started around 9 pm and quickly filled the store with smoke and flames.
Hospital staff noticed smoke coming from the store room and immediately informed the hospital administration and the fire department. The fire spread quickly because the store contained a large quantity of medicines and medical supplies.
Several fire brigade vehicles reached the hospital and worked for hours to control the blaze. Authorities shifted patients from the nearby surgical ward to safer rooms as a precaution.
Officials suspect a short circuit caused the incident. The store held hundreds of medicines that were supplied to health centers across the district, and many of them were destroyed in the fire.
No deaths were reported, but the hospital suffered heavy losses. Authorities will assess the damage after a full inspection.
