A tragic accident occurred in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district where five friends drowned in Kosi river while bathing on Sunday afternoon. The incident happened in Maheshpur village under Bihpur block and shocked the entire village.
According to local residents, five teenage boys went to the river to take a bath. While swimming, they suddenly moved into deeper water and struggled to return. Soon after, five friends drowned in Kosi river, and three of them could not escape the strong current.
The victims were identified as Lakshman Kumar (13), Yuvraj Kumar alias Pritam (14), and Nayan Kumar (12). Two other boys managed to swim back to safety and quickly informed villagers about the incident.
Villagers rushed to the riverbank and alerted the police. A rescue operation began soon after. Teams later recovered the bodies from the river. The tragic incident left the families devastated and the entire village in deep mourning.
