The UPSC Rank 301 Controversy created confusion after two candidates named Akanksha Singh claimed the same result in the Civil Services Examination. The issue began when a woman from Bihar, said to be the granddaughter of former Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, announced that she had secured rank 301.
However, the Union Public Service Commission clarified the situation and rejected this claim. According to the commission, the real candidate who secured rank 301 is Akanksha Singh from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh.
Officials also revealed details about the selected candidate’s family to remove the confusion. The successful candidate is the daughter of Ranjeet Singh and Neelam Singh. She is currently working as a doctor at AIIMS Patna.
The controversy grew after both women shared different admit cards and documents on social media. A QR code scan reportedly showed mismatched roll numbers in the Bihar candidate’s document.
With this clarification from officials, the UPSC Rank 301 Controversy has now been largely resolved.
