The AIMIM Rajya Sabha Strategy in Bihar has become a major talking point ahead of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has asked his party’s MLAs to “wait and watch” before taking any decision about supporting a candidate.
According to party leaders, Bihar AIMIM president Akhtarul Iman recently met Owaisi in New Delhi to discuss the current political situation. He informed the party chief that leaders from other parties, including Tejashwi Yadav and Upendra Kushwaha, had contacted him regarding the election.
However, the party leadership has decided not to rush into any decision. Instead, the AIMIM leadership will observe the situation and decide its next step at the right time. This cautious approach reflects the ongoing AIMIM Rajya Sabha Strategy in Bihar.
Bihar will vote for five Rajya Sabha seats on March 16. Six candidates are currently in the race after the deadline for withdrawing nominations ended.
To win a seat, a candidate needs 41 votes from MLAs. The NDA alliance already has the numbers to secure four seats, while the fifth seat may depend on support from smaller parties like AIMIM, which has five MLAs in the Bihar Assembly.
