RTE Admission for Poor Children in Private Schools Extended Till 20 March

RTE admission for poor children in private schools deadline extended till 20 March in Bihar

The Bihar education department has extended RTE admission for poor children in private schools until 20 March. The earlier deadline was 10 March. Officials gave more time because many selected students did not complete admission.

Parents can now finish the process before the new deadline. The extension will help many families secure seats for their children. The RTE admission for poor children in private schools allows students from low-income families to study in private institutions.

This year, 69,193 students applied for admission under the RTE quota. However, only 40,626 students completed their admission before the earlier deadline. Many seats are still vacant in several private schools.

Education officials asked private schools to admit all eligible students. They also warned schools not to deny admission to selected children.

Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, private schools must reserve 25% of seats for children from economically weaker sections. The government pays the school fees for these students.
