Rakesh Ranjan, a guest faculty member, lived in a lodge in the university area. His family grew worried when he did not answer calls. When they reached the lodge, they found the door locked from inside and later discovered his body inside the room.
The room showed disturbing signs. Vomit was scattered around, and his body lay under a cot. Police suspect he may have fallen ill suddenly or consumed something harmful, but the exact cause remains unknown.
Just hours before the incident, he spoke with his wife and daughter on a video call, and everything seemed normal.
Police have sent the body for postmortem. Officials say the real cause of death will become clear after the report.
