5 teachers arrested drunk after Nepal educational tour at Indo-Nepal border

Five teachers were arrested drunk after Nepal educational tour with school children in Bihar’s Supaul district. Police caught them at the Indo-Nepal border while they were returning from the trip.

According to officials, the teachers had taken students on an educational tour to Nepal. However, the teachers were arrested drunk after Nepal educational tour when prohibition officers checked them at a border checkpoint. Their behavior appeared suspicious, so police conducted a breath analyzer test.

The test confirmed that all five teachers had consumed alcohol. Drinking alcohol is illegal in Bihar because the state has enforced a complete liquor ban since 2016. Authorities immediately detained the teachers and started legal action.

Officials said the accused teachers belong to different areas of Madhepura and Khagaria districts. The district administration has also begun departmental action, and suspension proceedings may start soon.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the responsibility of teachers during school trips.
