Bihar Panchayat Elections: No Delimitation Before Polls, Reservation Roster to Change

Bihar Panchayat Elections update as minister Deepak Prakash announces reservation roster change

The Bihar Panchayat Elections will take place without any ward delimitation. Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash shared this update while speaking to reporters in Bhabua. He said the government will hold the elections using the current ward boundaries.

However, officials will change the reservation roster before the Bihar Panchayat Elections. The present roster has been in use for nearly ten years. Because of this, the government plans to rotate the reserved seats as per the rules.

The minister also spoke about future delimitation. He said the government will start that process after the national census. After the census, authorities will redraw Lok Sabha and Bihar Legislative Assembly constituencies seats first. Panchayat boundaries will change after that.

He also reviewed development work in Kaimur district. The minister said many solar lights have already been installed in villages. More rural projects will begin soon.
