In the Bhagalpur SDO office bribery case, the vigilance department arrested a stenographer and a clerk for allegedly taking a bribe of ₹70,000. The arrest took place during a trap operation at the SDO office in Nathnagar, Bhagalpur.
Officials said the accused demanded money from a government employee in exchange for confirming his service. The victim later filed a complaint with the vigilance department after facing repeated demands for the payment.
After checking the complaint, a special vigilance team from Patna planned a trap. When the complainant handed over the money inside the office, officers immediately caught the stenographer and the clerk red-handed.
The Bhagalpur SDO office bribery case has created concern in the district administration. Authorities have taken both accused to Patna for further questioning, and legal action has started under anti-corruption laws.
