Vigilance Raid in Munger commissioner office staff arrested taking ₹1.70 lakh bribe

A major Vigilance Raid in Munger exposed alleged corruption at the divisional commissioner’s office. The state vigilance team caught a staff member red-handed while taking a bribe of ₹1.70 lakh. The action created panic among officials working in the office.

According to officials, the accused staff member, Mukesh Kumar, worked as a peshkar in the commissioner’s office. Investigators said he demanded money from a complainant in exchange for settling a land-related court case. The complainant later informed the vigilance bureau about the demand.

After verifying the complaint, the vigilance team planned a trap operation. As soon as the accused accepted the bribe money, officers arrested him on the spot during the Vigilance Raid in Munger.

Officials took the accused into custody for questioning and later shifted him to Patna for further investigation. Authorities said the operation sends a strong message against corruption in government offices and warned that strict action will continue against those involved in bribery.
