Bihar Police Sub‑Inspector dismissed for bribe taking after vigilance trap

Bihar Police Sub‑Inspector dismissed for bribe taking in a strict action against corruption in the police department. The order was issued by Tirhut Range DIG Chandan Kushwaha after a departmental investigation confirmed the charges.

The Bihar Police Sub‑Inspector dismissed for bribe taking is identified as Sadre Alam. He earlier served at Ahiyapur police station in Muzaffarpur. In 2021, the Vigilance Investigation Bureau caught him red‑handed while accepting a bribe of ₹11,000 from a complainant.

A woman from Sipahipur filed the complaint with the vigilance bureau. After verifying the allegations, the team set up a trap and arrested the officer while he was taking money near a tea stall outside the police station.

Following the arrest, authorities launched a departmental inquiry. Investigators found the bribery charges true and submitted their report to senior officials.

DIG Kushwaha said corrupt officers damage the image of the police force and public trust. Based on the inquiry findings, he ordered Sadre Alam’s dismissal from service with effect from April 2, 2026.
