Roshan Kumar from Khajekala and Vijaya Shekhar from Sampatchak fell in love about two and a half years ago. Vijaya had rented a room in Roshan’s house, and their friendship slowly turned into a relationship. The couple secretly registered their marriage in July 2025. However, Roshan’s family strongly opposed the relationship.
When the conflict grew, the couple approached the Women’s Commission for help. Officials tried to convince Roshan’s family, but arguments continued and police from Dial 112 had to be called.
Amid the tense situation, Roshan filled sindoor in Vijaya’s hair in front of the commission members, publicly accepting her as his wife. The commission later assured protection for the newly married couple.
