The Anant Singh Mokama Dangal drew huge crowds in Nadwan village of Mokama in Bihar, where Indian wrestlers defeated their Iranian rivals in several exciting bouts. The event took place in Patna district and attracted thousands of spectators despite the intense heat.
At the Anant Singh Mokama Dangal, wrestlers from India and abroad competed in a traditional mud arena. Participants came from states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab, along with international wrestlers from Iran and Georgia.
In one major match, Maharashtra wrestler Shiva defeated Iran’s Hamid after a tough contest. Another Iranian wrestler, Jalal, lost to Delhi’s Jonty Gurjar, who later won the winner’s cup.
The event was organised by Mokama MLA Anant Singh to mark the first death anniversary of Bihar Kesari wrestler Viveka Singh, popularly known as Viveka Pahalwan. Organisers prepared the special mud arena using traditional techniques.
Thousands of people gathered throughout the day to watch the high-energy wrestling matches and cheer for their favourite wrestlers.
