Bihar Forensic Labs will soon expand across the state to strengthen criminal investigations. Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar said the government plans to start 13 forensic science laboratories in the coming years. This move will help police solve cases faster and more accurately.
According to the DGP, four permanent labs and nine regional labs will become operational within the next one to two years. Once completed, these Bihar Forensic Labs will provide modern testing facilities, including DNA analysis.
He also said that forensic teams must visit crime scenes in cases where the punishment is seven years or more. This rule aims to improve evidence collection and ensure scientific investigation in serious crimes.
The state has already completed building construction, equipment purchase, and staff recruitment for several labs. Officials have also arranged mobile forensic vans for many districts to support field investigations.
Police believe these new labs will speed up investigations and help courts deliver justice faster.
