The government has issued clear instructions to supply commercial LPG cylinders for cooking food at wedding feasts. This step will help families conduct wedding events smoothly during the upcoming marriage season.
According to the Bihar Wedding LPG Cylinder Guideline, district authorities will provide commercial gas cylinders to families hosting weddings based on local availability. The Food and Consumer Protection Department announced the decision during a press conference in Patna. Officials said the move will ensure that guests and wedding processions receive proper meals without any cooking issues.
The government issued these guidelines as LPG supply has faced pressure due to international tensions and higher demand. Authorities have also banned the commercial use of domestic cylinders to stop black marketing and hoarding. Because of rising gas prices, catering costs for weddings have already increased by 15–20 percent in some places.
Officials expect wedding activity to increase after the Hindu period of Kharmaas ends on 14 April, with many auspicious marriage dates in April and May.
