Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi strongly reacted in the Bihar Sharabandi Row and criticized opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav for questioning the liquor ban in the state. He said the debate on prohibition should focus on real issues rather than political allegations. The Bihar Sharabandi Row has intensified after several leaders raised questions about the law’s effectiveness.
Manjhi claimed that many people who now criticize the liquor ban were earlier linked with illegal liquor and sand mafias. He alleged that such elements are trying to create confusion about the policy for political gain.
The minister also defended the prohibition policy introduced by the government led by Nitish Kumar. He said the law was implemented to protect families and reduce social problems caused by alcohol abuse.
Manjhi urged leaders to support constructive discussions instead of making political attacks. He added that strict action should be taken against illegal liquor networks to ensure the success of prohibition in Bihar.
