A shocking case of poor healthcare has surfaced in Bihar after a police officer broken leg tied with carton incident came to light at a government hospital in Sheohar. The police officer broken leg tied with carton treatment has raised serious concerns about the condition of public health services in the state.
The injured officer, Sub-Inspector Shyamlal, suffered multiple fractures in a road accident near Fatehpur on Madhuban Road. Fellow police personnel rushed him to the Sheohar Sadar Hospital for treatment. However, hospital staff tied cardboard pieces and saline pipes to support the fractured leg instead of applying a proper plaster cast.
The unusual treatment shocked people at the hospital and triggered criticism on social media. Many questioned the quality of emergency care when even a police officer received such treatment.
Hospital officials said doctors provided temporary support because the leg had multiple fractures and required surgery before plastering. The officer was later referred to another hospital in Sitamarhi for advanced treatment.
After the incident surfaced, the district administration took action. District Magistrate Pratibha Rani ordered an inquiry and promised steps to improve medical facilities.
