The Nitish JDU Dy CM issue has created confusion in Janata Dal (United). The party is deciding who will become deputy chief minister in the new NDA government in Bihar. After Nitish Kumar stepped aside for a BJP chief minister, JD(U) leaders began talks on the deputy CM post.
The Nitish JDU Dy CM debate now focuses on Nishant Kumar, the son of Nitish Kumar. Many party leaders want him to take the position. However, Nishant does not want to join the government right now. He prefers to become an MLA or MLC first and then enter active politics.
If Nishant accepts the role, JD(U) may keep only one deputy chief minister. If he refuses, the party may choose two leaders for the post. Senior leaders Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, and Shravan Kumar are strong contenders.
JD(U) leaders continue internal discussions. The party may announce its decision soon as the new NDA government forms in Bihar.
