The Samrat Choudhary government floor test will take place in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on 24 April. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will seek a vote of confidence to prove that his government has majority support.
Several BJP MLAs are returning from West Bengal to attend the session. They were there for election campaigning. Now they are heading back to Patna to take part in the voting.
The Samrat Choudhary government floor test follows the formation of the new NDA government in Bihar. Nitish Kumar resigned earlier this month, which led to the new political arrangement.
The Assembly has 243 seats. A party or alliance needs 122 MLAs for a majority. The NDA alliance currently claims support from more than 200 MLAs. This strong number may help the government win the trust vote easily.
