Ambulance runs out of fuel midway while carrying Jamui patient to Patna

A tragic incident came to light in Bihar where an ambulance runs out of fuel midway, leading to the death of a critically ill patient. The patient was being taken from Jamui to Patna for better treatment when the emergency vehicle suddenly stopped on the road due to lack of fuel.

The victim, identified as Dheeraj Ravidas from Jhajha block in Jamui district, first received treatment at a local health centre. Doctors later referred him to Jamui Sadar Hospital and then to Patna for advanced care. During the journey, the ambulance runs out of fuel midway, stopping the vehicle before it could cover even 30 km.

Family members said the patient remained stuck inside the ambulance for nearly two hours in extreme heat. They alleged that he died in pain before another vehicle could be arranged.

The incident triggered anger among relatives and raised serious concerns about the condition of emergency health services. Authorities have ordered an inquiry and said strict action will follow if negligence is confirmed.
