Bihar Police Uniform Rules Tightened to Enforce Discipline

Bihar Police Uniform Rules Tightened with ban on jewelry, makeup, cigarettes and betel for officers on duty

The Bihar Police Uniform Rules Tightened directive has been issued by the state police headquarters to ensure discipline and maintain the dignity of the police uniform. Officials asked all officers and personnel to strictly follow the dress code mentioned in the police manual.

Under the Bihar Police Uniform Rules Tightened, officers on duty cannot wear jewelry, chains, or decorative items over their uniform. Police personnel must keep their hair short and appear clean-shaven while in uniform. Any caste symbol, religious mark, or facial cosmetic is also not allowed while performing official duties.

The guidelines also prohibit smoking cigarettes or chewing betel in public places while wearing the police uniform. Officers must wear the full uniform and should not mix uniform with casual clothing.

Traffic police and other personnel on duty cannot carry or use umbrellas while working in uniform. Police officials said these rules already exist in the manual and the headquarters only reminded staff to follow them strictly.
