Bihar Cabinet Expansion is likely to bring a major administrative reshuffle in the state. The government led by Samrat Choudhary is preparing for large-scale IAS transfers and new postings along with the cabinet expansion.
Officials said the general administration department has started collecting details about current postings of IAS officers. The government plans to reshuffle officers at both district and departmental headquarters based on performance and administrative needs.
During the Bihar Cabinet Expansion, the government may also appoint new district magistrates in several districts. Authorities want capable officers in key districts to improve governance and respond quickly to public issues.
The state will also get 16 new IAS officers between May and June. These officers will be promoted from the Bihar Administrative Service to the Indian Administrative Service. Bihar currently has 359 sanctioned IAS posts, but only about 310 officers are in position.
Many districts have had the same officers for long periods. The upcoming reshuffle aims to strengthen administration and improve government efficiency across Bihar.
