Speculation over Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, entering politics has been high in recent weeks. Posters across Patna projected him as “the future of Bihar” and “heir to Nitish Kumar’s political legacy.” Several JD(U) leaders even suggested giving him a ticket for the upcoming assembly elections.
However, JD(U) National Executive President Sanjay Jha has dismissed the buzz. He clarified in a recent interview that Nishant Kumar will not step into politics for now. Jha stressed that Nitish Kumar is still active and will lead JD(U) in the next elections.
Earlier, party MLA Gopal Mandal also opposed Nishant’s entry into politics. He warned that JD(U) could face internal chaos if Nishant joined. Mandal insisted the party’s stability depended on him staying away from electoral politics.
While speculation may continue, Sanjay Jha’s remarks have made it clear that Nishant’s political role is on hold. For now, Nitish Kumar remains the central face of JD(U) as Bihar prepares for crucial elections.
