A PM Modi visit security scare caused tension in Bengaluru after police found gelatin sticks near a venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi planned to attend an event.
Security teams noticed the gelatin sticks during a routine check near Kaggalipura on the outskirts of the city. The PM Modi visit security scare began when officers spotted the explosive materials on a footpath about three kilometres from the event venue.
Police quickly sealed the area and called the bomb disposal squad. Forensic teams also reached the spot and examined the materials. Officers started an investigation to find out who left the gelatin sticks there.
Officials said workers often use gelatin sticks in construction and mining activities. However, they can be dangerous if someone misuses them. Police have taken one suspect into custody for questioning.
Security agencies increased safety measures around the venue as the investigation continues.
