A horrific road accident in Mahabubnagar district claimed five lives after a high-speed sports bike collided with a car on the bypass road near Palakonda junction on Monday. The horrific road accident in Mahabubnagar district occurred when the car attempted a U-turn and the speeding bike crashed into it.
Two young men riding the sports bike died on the spot. Three passengers travelling in the car, including two children and a woman, also lost their lives in the crash. Another woman in the car suffered serious injuries and doctors shifted her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said the bike was reportedly moving at very high speed, which led to the deadly collision. The strong impact badly damaged the rear side of the car.
Local residents said the Mahabubnagar bypass road has recently become a hotspot for bike racing. Such reckless speeding has created serious danger for other motorists. Police have started an investigation and warned riders against overspeeding.
