Hailstorm Wreaks Havoc in Uttar Pradesh as a powerful storm, heavy rain, and lightning caused widespread destruction across several districts. At least 74 people lost their lives, while many others suffered injuries in the sudden weather disaster.

Officials said the Hailstorm Wreaks Havoc in Uttar Pradesh due to lightning strikes, collapsing walls, and falling trees. The storm hit multiple districts, leaving a trail of damage and panic among residents.

Prayagraj district reported the highest number of deaths with 17 victims. Bhadohi recorded 16 deaths, Mirzapur 10, and Fatehpur nine. Strong winds blowing at speeds of nearly 80–100 kmph uprooted thousands of trees and disrupted transportation.

The powerful winds damaged electricity lines and transformers, leading to power outages in many areas. Mobile towers also suffered damage, affecting communication in several rural regions.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered officials to provide ₹4 lakh compensation to the families of those who died. Disaster response teams are clearing debris and helping affected residents. Authorities also warned people to remain alert as more rain may occur in the next 24 hours.
