Bhojshala Case: High Court Declares Disputed Site a Temple

Bhojshala Case temple site in Dhar after High Court verdict

The Bhojshala Case took a major turn after the Madhya Pradesh High Court said the disputed place in Dhar is a temple. The court said the site belongs to Goddess Vagdevi, also known as Saraswati. The Bhojshala Case has remained a sensitive issue for many years.

Judges studied historical records and archaeological evidence before giving the verdict. They said the structure worked as a temple and a centre for Sanskrit learning during the time of King Raja Bhoj.

The court also ended the earlier system that allowed Friday prayers at the site. It directed authorities to manage the monument under the Archaeological Survey of India.

The judges added that the Muslim community can ask the government for separate land to build a mosque. The ruling is expected to influence the long-running dispute.
