Railway Kodur MLA Arava Sridhar has resigned from his post as Andhra Pradesh Government Whip amid growing controversy and allegations against him. The Jana Sena Party leader submitted his resignation letter to Deputy Chief Minister and party chief Pawan Kalyan on Friday.
Railway Kodur MLA Arava Sridhar recently faced criticism after a woman made serious allegations against him. The issue created political debate across Andhra Pradesh. Party leaders reportedly sought an explanation from the MLA regarding the controversy.
Sources said Arava Sridhar stepped down to avoid further embarrassment to the party and the government. In his resignation letter, he cited personal reasons for leaving the Government Whip position.
Arava Sridhar won the Railway Kodur Assembly constituency in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections as a candidate of the Jana Sena Party. He later received the responsibility of Government Whip in the Assembly.
The Jana Sena leadership has not yet announced who will replace him in the post.
