The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again issued summons to Janaki Lakshmi Kesineni, wife of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni, in the ongoing AP liquor scam investigation. Officials asked her to appear before the agency on May 27. The AP liquor scam probe focuses on alleged financial links between a Hyderabad-based firm and key accused persons in the case.
According to ED officials, Janaki Lakshmi is a director in PRYDE Infracon LLP. The agency suspects the company may have links to money laundering activities connected to the AP liquor scam. Earlier, she reportedly skipped questioning, leading to fresh notices from the ED.
Kesineni Chinni denied all allegations. He said the company was formed only for a real estate project in Hyderabad and had no relation to the liquor scam. He also claimed the project stopped operations during 2022-23.
Meanwhile, the ED continues to investigate alleged kickbacks, shell companies, and illegal money transfers linked to the Andhra Pradesh liquor policy case.
