A private travel bus overturns in Kadapa early on Friday after the driver tried to avoid a cow that suddenly came onto the road. The accident took place near PP Kunta in Gopavaram mandal of Kadapa district.
The bus was travelling from Vijayawada to Kadiri in Anantapur district. Police said the driver lost control while attempting to save the animal, causing the vehicle to overturn beside the road.
Around 30 passengers were on board during the incident. One passenger suffered a serious leg injury, while several others received minor injuries. Locals and emergency workers quickly reached the spot and shifted the injured passengers to Badvel Government Hospital for treatment.
The private travel bus overturns in Kadapa at a time when Andhra Pradesh has witnessed several bus accidents in recent days, raising concerns about passenger safety on highways.
Police registered a case and started an investigation into the accident.
