Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy strongly criticized the Telangana government over the paddy procurement issue, accusing it of failing to manage grain purchases properly and creating difficulties for farmers.
Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Kishan Reddy said the state government cannot blame the Centre for procurement delays. He stated that purchasing paddy from farmers is the responsibility of the state government. He questioned why Telangana continues to face procurement problems when other states handle the process smoothly.
Referring to the paddy procurement issue, the BJP leader alleged that the government lacked proper planning and failed to arrange essential materials such as gunny bags on time. He claimed that farmers are suffering because of administrative negligence.
Kishan Reddy also alleged that high-quality rice produced in Telangana is being sent to other states while inferior rice is being brought back for distribution through ration shops. He demanded transparency and accountability from the government.
He urged the state administration to focus on farmer welfare instead of blaming the Centre for every problem.
